After a student has gone through the entire mtss process and has been informally evaluated, formal consent will go home with the student. Once consent is signed (this must be agreed upon by the parents) and returned, the next step can happen.

formal evaluations

Formal evaluations will be conducted by all service providers. The IEP team has 60 days to complete observations, informal progress monitoring, formal assessments in all selected areas, and analyzation of data points.

The meeting process for an initial evaluation can average around 3 separate meetings. Prepare for the following meetings:

After the data does conclude that the student would benefit from special education services, all meetings and parental consent has been granted, the student will begin special education services.
